RoRvsWild

Cookies policy

What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They help websites remember your preferences and keep you logged in.

You may notice we don’t have a cookie consent banner. That’s because we only use strictly necessary cookies that are essential for the website to function. Under GDPR, consent is not required for cookies that are technically necessary to provide a service you requested.

We do not use:

  • ❌ Marketing or advertising cookies
  • ❌ Analytics cookies (not even Google Analytics)
  • ❌ Social media cookies
  • ❌ Third-party tracking cookies

Cookies We Use

All cookies we use are essential - they’re necessary for you to use our service.

Cookie Name Purpose Duration
_ror-vs-wild_session Maintains your session while browsing Session (browser close)
session_token Keeps you logged in across visits 30 days or logout
invitation_token Remembers team invitation during signup Until accepted/revoked

What these do: When you log in, these cookies remember who you are so you don’t have to log in on every page. Without them, you couldn’t use RoRvsWild.

Legal basis: GDPR Art. 6(1)(b) - necessary for contract performance.

Third-Party Cookies

We do not use any third-party cookies. All cookies are set by rorvswild.com only.

Services like Stripe may set their own cookies on their domains when you interact with their forms, but they don’t set cookies on our domain.

Managing Cookies

How to Control Cookies

You can control cookies through your browser settings:

  • Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies
  • Firefox: Preferences → Privacy & Security → Cookies
  • Safari: Preferences → Privacy → Manage Website Data
  • Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions

For detailed instructions, please refer to your browser’s documentation.

What Happens If You Block Cookies?

If you block or delete our cookies:

  • ⚠️ You cannot log in
  • ⚠️ You’ll be logged out on every page
  • ⚠️ Team invitations won’t work
  • ⚠️ The service will be unusable

Since all our cookies are essential, blocking them prevents you from using RoRvsWild. We recommend keeping cookies enabled for rorvswild.com.

Security

Our cookies are secure:

  • HTTP-only - Cannot be accessed by JavaScript (prevents XSS)
  • Secure - Only transmitted over HTTPS in production
  • SameSite - Protected against CSRF attacks
  • Signed - Tamper-proof using cryptographic signatures

What’s in Our Cookies?

Our cookies contain only randomly generated session identifiers. They do not store any personal information, passwords, credit cards, or tracking data.

The session ID is used to look up your account on our servers. The cookie itself doesn’t contain sensitive data.

Your Privacy

  • We collect the minimum data necessary
  • We never sell your data
  • We don’t track you across websites
  • We use cookies only for functionality, not advertising
